A friend asked me if I would be willing
to draw a picture for his up coming book; and so Watchtower was born.
I utilized a variety of graphite pencils to portray a harsh, rugged
tone. Hoping both the value and hardness of multiple pencils would
create texture and depth bringing this character to life. The
character himself goes through many hardships and conflicts
throughout the book, but somehow he still manages to push trough it
all and remain unyielding. I was greatly inspired by this and hoped
to interpret that through my depiction of him.
